We are no longer kids, grew up maybe a little to fast.

Having no responsibilities is now just a memory in the past.

We must learn to take care of our own,

And for some that means learning to live alone.

Now we have to have a job to earn the pay,

To buy our own things, make our own way.

Others still may attend some type of school,

If you can afford then I guess it would be cool.

Helping friends live as much as you can,

Keeping your eyes open for a good woman or man.

It’s easier for some to get by,

Then there are some who never give life a try.

For me I think I’m equal to the rest,

I do what I can to make things there best.

I get a little more help than some along the way,

But I try not to make everything about play.

I know I had my share of bad mistakes,

But that’s why my independence is harder to make.

I relize I should and could be further along in life,
